Infrastructure projects generate a lot of numbers. Not all numbers mean the same thing. On every Farm Futures page, figures carry a label that tells you exactly what kind of number you are looking at.

The four labels

  • Verified — backed by measured, operating data.
  • Target — a goal the project has set for itself.
  • Estimate — a calculated or modeled value, with assumptions.
  • Planned — intended configuration that is not yet built or measured.
  • Unavailable — not yet published, because nothing verified exists yet.

Why we bother

An estimate that looks like a verified figure can mislead anyone reading quickly. Labels let you scan a dashboard and instantly know which numbers are solid and which are still moving.

In the energy model

The interactive energy flow on the homepage uses your own inputs and a configurable utilization assumption. Every result it produces is marked as a model — it is a tool for understanding the system, not a report of live operations.
